When the 3G licenses were awarded to operators in India last year , none of the players won a pan-India license. Some players won licenses in 13 circles and others in 9 or lesser number of circles. Now a report from LightReading states that Aircel and Tata have been busy in talks to roll out 3G services together .An industry source told the publication that Aircel and Tata have decided to team up to offer 3G services in all circles where they have won licenses. Aircel has won licenses in 13 circles and Tata has won in 9. The duo share 3 circles. Tata Docomo has already launched 3G services in India and Aircel is expected to launch 3G services anytime.

There are also rumours that Airtel , Vodafone and IDEA are teaming up to roll out 3G services.

Hope we get our 3G at least in 2011 !

Hate to say it, but passive matrix OLEDs are now a thing of the past. At this year's CES 2011, Samsung showed off what they can do with their AMOLED displays in Las Vegas. Not only are they more environment friendly, consume less energy than their OLED counterparts, the displays are rollable, bendable and can even survive impacts from a hammer. Check out the video below by the folks over at IntoMobile below…

It was no surprise to see Google finally confirm their 4G G-Slate tab device at the CES, though for me the unexpected was that it would come from LG and that their new version of Android would be designed chiefly for tablets in mind.

The T-Mobile G-Slate will be among the first 4G tablets to fully benefit from the tablet-optimized Android 3.0 platform, which was designed from the ground up for devices with larger screen sizes and addresses the unique aspects of tablet use cases and form factors. The Honeycomb user experience improves on Android favorites such as widgets, multi-tasking, browsing, notifications and customization. It will also feature the latest Google Mobile innovations including Google Maps™ 5.0 with 3D interaction, collection of more than 3 million eBooks and Google Talk™ with video and voice chat.

As you will see in the official videos below, latest Android 3.0 comes with fluid home screens, improved app switching, browser tabs, video chat, dynamic app shortcuts and new versions of Google's Android applications will take advantage of the bigger screen.

At the moment, the LG G-Slate's spec is still very much so undisclosed but no doubt, the device will have an HSPA+ radio (making it 4G according to T-Mobile's standards), definitely front facing camera for video calling with Google Talk and almost 99% a decent camera round the backend for photos. Check out the short clips below…

Motorola has a new phone on the market for purchase, the new CLIQ 2. The phone boasts Motoblur user interface on top of its Android 2.2. The phone has a 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM, which is a decent combo for the phone's pricing.

If you haven't yet heard of Motoblur before, its like HTC Sense and merges all your Facebook, Twitter, contacts, calendar and emails all together so you can access your social life and multimedia all at once.

The display is a 3.7-inch 854480 touchscreen with a slide out QWERTY keyboard from the side of the phone. The CLIQ 2 has a five megapixel camera with some nice features like auto focus and dual LED lights for flash. Also, the phone has GPS, a radio tuner, eCompass, Bluetooth connectivity and is of course WiFi ready. The CLIQ 2 Android smart phone will be released in January from T-Mobile and later from other companies.

The phone's battery life is strong with an almost eight hours of talk time and on standby the phone can last for a claimed 13 days.

Sony Ericsson revealed only one device at the CES 2011, which is known as Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, a beautiful slim and smart phone. A few days ago, we saw a leaked shot of Sony Ericsson phone, which is actually a successor to Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro. We saw some benchmarks of the device, and now some more shots andfurtherinformation is leaked about the phone. A Chinese forum known asIT168 has posted specifications and some new images of the phone. In the new images, we can also see the QWERTY keyboard. It is reported that the phone comes with Android 2.3, a 3-inch 320480 pixels multi-touch display, 1GHz or 800 MHz CPU (not confirmed yet, but I think it's 1 GHz), Adreno 205 GPU and with a slide-out QWERTY-keyboard. The device is also capable to record HD videos (check the image below).Hopefully, Sony Ericsson will launch the phone next month, along with the Xperia Play at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. As Sony Ericsson said that they are planning to reveal new devices at MWC, maybe this phone is part of their MWC keynote. Check out another pic after the break:
