With the launch of the iPad about one year ago, Apple created a new market for electronic products: touchscreen tablets. Even if they have enjoyed a significant success and led other manufacturers to start on this niche, touchscreen tablets are still popular only for a small segment of users, mainly for those who want to have fun and enjoy internet access on the go.

On the other hand, IT is an industry where building a gadget that combines features of several standalone products is something natural. Taiwanese manufacturer introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the Eee Pad Transformer. As the name suggests, the tablet functionality can be extended to that of a netbook through an ordinary keyboard.

The tablet's display is 10.1? and supports a resolution up to 1280 x 800 pixels. Within houses a dual core processor NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU, perfect for multimedia and playing full HD 1080p videos.

The Eee Pad Transformer is now released and can be bought for a price around $399 to $699, depending on your required specifications.

Sony has put a lot of effort into keeping its PlayStation 3 free from hackers and jailbreak tools, but no matter how hard they have tried, hackers always find a solution to hack the latest firmware.

Although the latest firmware is relatively new, hackers have found a way to jailbreak it. As you know, in case of jailbraking, hackers and jailbreakers would face bans, arrests, or even the legal charges, but that doesn't stop people from jailbraking the PS3. Hacker known as ThatBoringHacker has recently posted a video on YouTube that shows him running the homebrew software on 3.6 firmware. It seems that ThatBoringHacker has managed to hack the firmware on accident and now he can run homebrew software on his PS3. However, ThatBoringHacker hasn't shared his knowledge or tools with the world.

PS3 firmware 3.6 is now jailbroken, but we have to ask ourselves, how does a person jailbreak a PS3 firmware on accident, and what will be Sony's response?

Remember that Dungeon Raid [$2.99] update we talked about last week? It's up and available to download now. Version 1.3 of the popular, match-3-with-a-significant-twist game brings about ten unlockable character classes, a total of ten skills, five new "special" monsters to sword to death, new introduction tales, and 75 new achievements. Yeah, I meant to write 75.

But wait, what's up with the races? Our other post on this subject, based on developer response in our forums, had the skinny:

Races will, essentially, add in an advantage versus drawback element. Each race has a special bonus, but is also weak to a specific enemy type, so there's an obvious strategic piece being added to the core game here, a perfect addition for those seeking more challenge.

Dungeon Raid, by the way, is a fantastic game. Fearless leader Eli Hodapp gave it a full five stars in his review from much earlier this year. Also, it's safe to assume that even more content is on the way the devs said as much in our forums, but the catch is that future updates might not be as large as this one. They'd rather do smaller, more manageable tweaks in the future in order to get content out to you faster, which seems like a solid plan to me.

Have you given the new Dungeon Raid a spin yet? What do you think?

It's been awhile since Dell has updated any of it's old previous models. The Dell Vostro 3000 series for business laptops will be updated with more features coming on March,22/2011. They have added a new processor to give it the added extra punch that it needs for it's day to day tasks. The laptop has been styled with a business attitude which is very sleek, a dark black color and silver chrome on the sides. It's available in three colors Aberdeen Silver, Lucerne Red and Brisbane Bronze.

The laptop now has new DDR3 memory, a decent graphics card, bluetooth 3.0 and USB 3.0. Dell has given some reasonable prices for this line of business laptops. The 13-inch laptop starts at $599, 14- and 15-inch at $499 and the 17 inch at $549 dollars. Not entirely sure why the 13 inch is cheaper than the other larger laptops considering 13 inch is getting towards the size of a netbook.

Apple has reportedly started the trial productions of it's upcoming smartphone, the iPhone 5-successor to the iPhone 4.

The iPhone 5 is expected to be released in the third quarter of this year. That would be later than the original launches but considering that Apple may be releasing the white version of the iPhone 4 soon, it seems to be right.

The source also says that the iPhone 5 may not feature a bigger screen as the rumours had indicated. The phone will be very similar to the iPhone 4 rather than returning to the original design as previously stated.

It might feature an NFC chip contrary to the rumours stating that Apple would wait till it became the medium for mobile payments.

We use Google every day to find all sorts of information, therefore, folks from Google are doing their best to enhance their number one search engine. Google has released another enhancement that will allow you to find release dates easier than before.

In order to search the release date of a particular game or a movie, you just need to type the name of the game or movie along with "release date" and Google will show you the release date of that particular item at the top of your results, so you won't have to visit any sites to get additional info. Of course, if you want to verify this information on your own, Google will inform you on how many sites this particular release date is mentioned, and it can even show you sources and direct links to these sites so you can visit them and read additional info on your own.

Although release date guessing isn't anything spectacular, it can make our lives and searches a bit easier, and currently it only works with movies and video games, unfortunately not for predicting when iPhones or iPads may arrive.

Last December we reviewed Big Blue Bubble's puzzle game Burn the Rope [$1.99/Lite] and found it to be a unique and challenging experience. Less than a month later, an update brought new levels, Game Center integration, and several gameplay tweaks that took care of most of the complaints in our original review. Then, several weeks later, another update added more new levels, additional gameplay elements in the form of new bugs and bonus rounds, and Retina Display support. What started out as a quirky little puzzle game quickly evolved in a matter of weeks into one of the most fun, content-filled, and beautiful games on the App Store. Many people felt the same too, as Burn the Rope spent a significant amount of time hanging around the top paid charts in the App Store.

Now this game is available in an iPad native version called Burn the Rope HD [$4.99] which encompasses all the new content and features that have been added into the iPhone and iPod touch version since its release. My first concern when thinking about playing Burn the Rope on an iPad is that it doesn't sound terribly fun to spin a larger, heavier device around in my hands, which is a main component of the gameplay. Luckily Big Blue Bubble has thought about this as well, and has come up with a simple but perfect solution to this problem.

In Burn the Rope HD, you simply keep the device in one position and spin the puzzle itself around by using the touch screen. This works remarkably well as I can just lay the iPad in my lap and play each puzzle using a single finger, and the game is especially fun on the larger screen. Of course, if you're in the mood for a bit of an arm workout (or your name is Brad Nicholson), you can turn tilting on in the options and play the iPad version just like the iPhone version. I tried this out and it works just fine, but my puny arms much prefer the default method of swiping the screen.

If you are the owner of an iPad and haven't yet given Burn the Rope a try, the new Burn the Rope HD is highly recommended. The graphics and gameplay are fantastic on the larger screen, and there's enough levels to keep you busy for a long time, not to mention achievements and leaderboards through Game Center. I've actually been having a great time replaying through the game on the iPad, and Burn the Rope HD is easily one of the best puzzle games you can get for the device. Make sure to check out our previous coverage of the iPhone version for more details, or stop by our forums for further impressions from our members.
