Panasonic wanted to make the impossible, possible by letting kids in the Bahrain desert (lowest temperatures even during the Winter season of greater than 15C) see snow for the first time, an unusual task? So the crew gathered some snow in Japan, made a proper snowman and safely placed it within a high-tech vacuum insulation box and shipped one 5,314-miles.

Surprisingly, the Panasonic snowman remained intact and frozen until it was unwrapped. Even when melted, the kids had fun making snowballs. Check out the video below…

In-game achievements are a super way for developers to add play incentive to games, and are something Microsoft got right early on with Xbox Live. Happily, thanks to the likes of OpenFeint, Plus+, and Apple's own Game Center, iOS gamers have been racking up achievements for some time now. And, while we've seen achievements land in titles outside of the Games category in Education, for example we were intrigued to hear of a new Photography app that boasts achievements for in-depth usage.

Kotaku recently took a look at noted photographer Tray Ratcliff's release of 100 Cameras in 1 [App Store], a new photography app that hands out Game Center achievements in an effort to get people to take more photos, and to have fun with them.

"I think it is fun to have some sort of comparative measurement of your experience with the app," he said. "The more you use it, the more achievements and points you get. We also use the achievements to encourage you to discover all the features of the app that you might not otherwise see.

"I think it's fascinating how achievements are both completely unnecessary but really satisfying! Also, there's something about being rewarded when you were not really expecting it. It's like a small Swiss child running up to you in the street and offering you a piece of chocolate, just for being an awesome dude."

100 Cameras in 1 features an impressive 31 different pieces of chocolate to be doled out by the small virtual Swiss children that are the app's integrated achievement system. Taking certain paths through the app or using a certain set of filters triggers the various achievements, which are as interestingly named as the 100 different visual filters that the app places at the user's disposal. Thanks to its ability to combine multiple filters, some rather interesting effects can be rather easily achieved.

With 100 Cameras in 1, Ratcliff wanted to deliver a faster and cleaner picture taking experience, with more flexibility than the alternatives. Having run through the app fairly extensively (grabbing achievements along the way), I feel that he's pretty much met his goals here, and perhaps most impressively on the speed front; despite the complex filter systems, moving through the app and getting to the end product is smooth and super fast.

I like what Ratcliff and developers Lavacado have done here, both for the creative, outside-the-box use of achievements as well as for delivering a solid, artistic photo application. I'm anxious to see what other non-game areas are well met by the use of achievements. Chase Bank, Wells Fargo an in-app check deposit seems well worth an achievement, eh??

Nokia has been voted the most trusted brand in India according to a recent surveyconducted by research firm Trust Research Advisory (TRA). The "Brand Trust Report, India Study 2011? was launched in Mumbai on Tuesday by our beloved Dr A P J Abdul Kalam Sir, Former President of India. The survey covered 16,000 brands, based on 61 questions to 2310 respondents in nine major cities.

While the number two and three spots were taken by Tata and Sony, respectively, while LG and Samsung were positioned at number four and five.

Survey also included personalities as brands where Master blaster Tendulkar took 59th position overtaking the Father of The Nation Mahatma Gandhi at 232nd position while actor Aamir Khan was at 242nd rank.

Surprisingly, Bollywood"s legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan's name does not figure in the top 300 list.

How did this survey work?

TRA's CEO N Chandramouli said, "As trust is a very subjective term, we developed a trust matrix which included 61 components defining trust which include empathy, non-threatening ambience, perceived competence, corporate altruism, commanding respect, shared interest, displaying sincerity, enthusiasm, outward appearance and accepting responsibility."

And, infact every house in India has atleast 1 phone made by Nokia, and those are the feature phones, mid ranged phone and smartphones. Looking forward to see a comeback from Nokia with regards to the high end smartphones segment. The N9 may be the answer..?

Nokia C5-03 is Nokia's latest addition to its S

Rumors are always around us, and sometimes they come up with good and exciting news. Recently, LG launched the first ever smartphone with the Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, and as you may know that Nvidia Tegra 2 is a dual-core processor. You folks may have seen several devices at CES 2011 with the Tegra 2 processor, which indicates that the future is based on devices with dual-core processor. But it looks like Nvidia is thinking to change the future. According to Hexus, Nvidia will be launching Tegra 3 soon, maybe at the Mobile World Congress next month. As the Tegra 2 is the dual-core processor, Tegra 3 will be a successor to it and I think it will be a Tri-Core or Quad core processor. Nvidia didn't tell about any features of the Tegra 3.

Well folks, that's all we know about it. Let's wait for some official words from Nvidia, and I hope they will clear the air soon.

DigiTimes always comes up with some good rumors and most of the time, the rumors are true. They are reporting that HTC is planning to launch an Android powered tablet in March and it is codenamed as HTC Flyer. A lot of big companies have launched tablets i.e. Apple, Samsung, LG, Motorola, RIM etc. HTC is also a big player, and I am sure that they will also launch a tablet(s) this year. HTC Flyer will run Android 2.3, but it will be upgraded to Android 3.0 after Honeycomb is officially released by Google. They are also reporting that HTC is also launching two more tablets in June, and both tablets will be Android 3.0 powered. Well, again we don't trust any rumor, but I think this rumor has some weight, because it's a right time for HTC to launch a tablet. May be HTC will launch the tablet(s) at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, no one knows. So people, are you looking forward to a HTC tablet? Tell us!

motorola xoom price

Motorola XOOM the Android Honeycomb tablet from Motorola does surely have some impressive specs. But the tablet might not come cheap and will reportedly carry a minimum advertised price of $799 USD according to a document from Android Central. This might be the cost of the unsubsidized , unlocked version of the XOOM. While the tablet has been announced only for Verizon , it should be available on other networks too.The pricing sounds similar to the initial pricing of the Samsung Galaxy Tab. With the iPad 2 expected to launch anytime , we are hoping that the XOOM tablet would justify its expensive price tag.

Would you buy a Motorola XOOM (3G+WiFi) for 799 USD ?

Nexus one got an OTA (over the air) update to Android 2.2.2 . And no, this is not a major update. This update brings in some security and bug fixes. No Gingerbread for the Nexus One owners yet. The update is expected to fix the long standing SMS bug in Android.

Though Google has assured that Gingerbread for the Nexus One will be out soon, they haven't given us the right date or time of release. Many including me were expecting Gingerbread running on our N1 already by now. It's been more than a month now, and there's still nothing more than small updates like the one being rolled out. And we hate the fact. On the other side, Google's second Android phone has already gingerbread running on it.

To check for update goto settings and check for updates. The update is sized at around 558kb. And the build is FRG83G.

Or geeks, here is the direct download link : Download
