Gigabyte is preparing to launch a new wireless laser mouse, by the name of ECO600. It measures 125 x 78 x42 mm and weighs 106 grams (excluding batteries, of course), uses the 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity, integrates a laser sensor of 800 1600 dpi and capable of processing at 3000 fps.

ECO600 from Gigabyte needs two AA batteries to operate, which offers approximately one year operation time. And the PC is connected via a nanoreceiver, which receives information at a rate of 125 reports per second. ECO600 has a generous scroll wheel, very useful for most of the people. It also has two buttons below the scroll to change its sensitivity.

Other features of ECO600 wireless mouse include a rubberized coating for better grip, three blue LEDs that indicates the level of sensitivity and when you should change the batteries. Yet again, Gigabyte surprises us with this awesome mouse. The price is still unannounced.

HTC today announced their new flagship Android smartphone, the HTC Sensation aka HTC Pyramid. I was there for the press conference and had my first hands-on with the device.

The HTC Sensation is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread 'superphone' running on a dual core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm MSM 8260 processor with 1GB user accessible ROM and 768MB RAM. It has a 4.3? Super LCD capacitive touchscreen with qHD 540 x 960 resolution with Gorilla Glass protection. Imaging wise, the Sensation has a 8MP camera with dual LED flash capable of 1080p video recording and VGA front camera.

Connectivity wise, the phone includes HSDPA, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB port with MHL support for HDMI out and DLNA. Other features includes the GPS receiver, accelerometer, digital compass, ambient light sensor and proximity sensor. A 1520 mAh battery powers the device. All of these are packed inside an aluminium unibody shell that weighs 148g and measures 126.1 x 65.4 x 11.3 mm.

The HTC Sensation comes with the latest HTC Sense UI and HTC Watch, a film rental and purchase store. The new HTC Sense includes support for endless scrolling and a new lock-screen not too dissimilar to Nokia Betalabs Bubbles. Users can assign application icons onto the lockscreen and be dragged around to a launcher ring that unlocks the phone, and immediately launches the application.

HTC Watch is due to be launch with over 600 titles, with pricing to be confirmed later. Films, once purchased or rented, can be played almost immediately over WiFi. Because the HTC Sensation comes with HDMI out capability (with a microUSB MHL adapter), users can easily watch films on a big HD screen. The Watch application was easy to use and films were easy to browse. Trailers play automatically regardless of whether the user is on 3G or WiFi.

I had a brief hardware hands-on with the device. The HTC Sensation felt good, has a built-quality similar to that of their other phones like the Desire S. Despite the large screen, it felt comfortable to hold and use. Overall the device felt solid, light and portable. The aluminium unibody not only looked good, but also felt good to touch. With the Sensation, HTC did not stray far in terms of design. In fact there are grumblings in the room that if HTC did not tell us, the Sensation could easily be mistaken for one of their other past products.

HTC claims that the HTC Sensation is their fastest phone yet, and that it is able to open applications twice as fast as their previous single-core smartphones. Browsing is also quicker. The device felt fast, and it did not complain at any applications I threw at it. In fact it feels so much quicker than my Motorola Milestone 2 and Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc. The new HTC Sense was a joy to use and is now easily the best out-of-the-box custom Android launcher.

HTC has not confirmed pricing for the HTC Sensation. In the UK, the Sensation will be exclusive Vodafone UK for one month. Three UK has also confirmed that the Sensation will be available on their network. In the US, the HTC Sensation will be known as the Sensation 4G.

Consider this a small bit of news for a huge shooter on the App Store. As of now, you can begin downloading a brand new map pack in Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus [$6.99 / HD / Free], an FPS that takes a lot of its cues from Modern Warfare.

The pack, which weighs in at $1.99 via in-App purchase, will give you a total of three maps. As you'd figure, none are particularly inspired, but with names like The "Shanty Town," the "Bunker," and the "Battlefield," I find it hard to believe the crowd eating these up at the moment care about the by-the-books approach taken here.

And, hey, even if you don't buy the maps, the update that brings about this new IAP gives you a little something-something. According to the App's page, this update sees that every player gets ten additional multiplayer ranking levels, a "perfect" multiplayer experience, and "better protection" against hackers. Wait, a perfect experience? I can't wait to jump back in!

I have no idea if the Guinness Book of World Records is anywhere near among kids these days as it was when I was younger but back in my day, that was prime Christmas or birthday gift material. I totally missed the memo for this, but I guess they've even dropped the "Book of" from their title and now they're just "Guinness World Records". There have been a number of other changes over the years chronicled by Wikipedia, beginning with the pub argument that spawned the book all the way back in 1951 to recent TV shows, and video games. Guinness World Records: Gamers Edition Arcade [99] is one of those games, and might just be your one way ticket into the record books.

Included are 5 mediocre mini-games. Hoover's Hot-Air Escape puts you in charge of piloting a hot air balloon and tilting your device to avoid obstacles. In Mental Gears you need to swipe to rotate gears into proper alignment. Rupee Roulette is a tilt-based reaction game where you sort gems in to appropriately colored chests. Chest of Destruction is a simple tap-based bomb diffusing game and Monkey Country is a basic whack-a-mole type game.

Each game is played for exactly 60 seconds, at which point your score is submitted to an online database. At some point (which I haven't been able to confirm when) the leaderboards will be published in the upcoming edition of the Gamer's Edition of the Guinness Book. Exciting, huh?

Sure, it's a collection of minigames built around the gimmick of making it into the record books, but I can think of worse ways to spend 99. One thing that I really like about it is you can't really lose any of the games, making it all super kid-friendly. You just play them for 60 seconds, score as high as you can, and repeat.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to get back to realizing my dreams of being a world record holder.

LONDON April 12, 2011 HTC Corporation, a global leader in mobile innovation and design, today introduced the HTC Sensation, a smartphone that shines a spotlight on entertainment with HTC's new HTC Watch™ video service. Crafted with premium design elements, the HTC Sensation features the company's latest HTC Sense™ experience that puts people at the center by making their smartphones work in a more simple and natural way.

"The strength of Vodafone and HTC's partnership is a marker of our commitment to offer our customers truly compelling and market-leading mobile experiences."

Premium Design and Materials
Tapping into HTC's trademark design language, the HTC Sensation's premium look and feel is enhanced by its rounded edges, aluminum unibody construction and the touch screen surface is protected by a contoured screen that feels more natural as a finger is glided across it. The 4.3-inch qHD display delivers high-resolution widescreen viewing and gives the HTC Sensation slender proportions that feel natural in a person's hand. At the heart of the HTC Sensation beats a powerful, 1.2-gigahertz dual-core Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ processor, which enables gorgeous graphics and all-around fast performance.

HTC Sense
Complementing the HTC Sensation's premium design is the latest HTC Sense experience that boasts a host of new features and enhancements, helping people to have more fun and get more done. For instance, HTC Sense introduces a customizable active lockscreen experience that transforms the lockscreen into a real-time window to the most important information and content, such as social updates, photos, weather or stock updates that are viewed by simply turning on the display. In addition, the new active lockscreen becomes a customizable gateway that lets people quickly jump to the most used features, like making a phone call, sending an email, taking a picture or anything else with the same quick gesture usually used to unlock the phone. For instance, the camera can be launched right from the lock screen with a single motion, saving precious seconds when you're trying to capture the action. Sharper graphics, vibrant animations and new widgets make HTC Sense look better than ever and, by continuing to focus on all of the aspects, both large and small, that make HTC Sense special, HTC introduces a more cinematic and immersive weather experience with stunning imagery and audible weather effects.

HTC Sense also makes it easy to have fun by enabling people to capture and share special moments. The HTC Sensation's 8-megapixel camera doesn't just shoot gorgeous photos but, with the new instant capture feature, lets people capture the moments they want without worrying about missing or keeping up with the action. The HTC Sensation also shoots full HD video in 1080p resolution, with full stereo sound, at up to 30 frames a second, giving you smooth video that is better than many other phones. With the new Video Trimmer tool, people can crop their clips to the perfect size for easy sharing with friends and family.

As for important issues, six bulletins are addressed to remote code execution issues, one is related with privilege escalation, and the last one is related to security flaw that leads to information disclosure.

After the huge amount of success and critical acclaim for Mobigame's Edge [$2.99] (not to mention all of the trademark dispute drama), everyone was curious what game they could release to follow up such a monstrous title. It turned out that game was Cross Fingers [99/Lite], a Tangram-style puzzle game that did a fantastic job of utilizing the multi-touch capabilities of Apple's iOS devices.

Cross Fingers involved completing a series of puzzles by sliding together various pieces into their intended slots to form a complete shape. Some of the harder levels required complex usage of multiple fingers to move each piece to the correct position, often resulting in a fun game of finger Twister on your touch screen. It contained 90 regular levels and an additional 30 master levels, with an endless Arcade mode unlockable as a bonus upon completion of every level. We liked Cross Fingers quite a bit when we reviewed it in November of 2009.

Today, Cross Fingers has received a substantial update which includes a whopping 270 additional levels as well as Game Center leaderboards. It's also a universal app now, and the graphics have been optimized for the iPad and Retina Display devices in both the full and lite versions.

Despite releasing nearly a year and a half ago, Cross Fingers is still a ton of fun today. It features a clean aesthetic, clever game mechanics, and fun use of multi-touch. Including this latest update, it now tops out at 390 levels plus an endless mode, which is a whole lot of content for the price. And speaking of price, Cross Fingers is also on sale for 99 to celebrate the new update. If you enjoy well designed puzzle games, Cross Fingers is a solid choice and you should definitely at least check out the lite version.

Its now been a number of years since iPhone Dev Team unleashed this amazing tool and to say how important the role of ultrasn0w has been to many iPhone users would be an understatement. Anyone who relies on their carrier / network to be unlocked in order to use their iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPhone 4 on another GSM carrier, now has the opportunity to take the iOS 4.3.1 upgrade while remaining unlocked thanks to ultrasn0w 1.2.1.

The iPhone Dev Team have worked their magic to make ultrasn0w functional once again for the iPhone 4 (GSM), 3GS and 3G. They've also added a little extra to correct a signal bar issue for anyone maintaining an older baseband but not using an unlock.

Its important to stress that this tool will not unlock newer basebands but its ability to function still requires that your iOS device retains the older baseband. Therefore if you're intending to upgrade to iOS 4.3.1 but want to continue using alternative carriers / networks, make sure you use iPhone Dev Team's Pwnage Tool to maintain your existing baseband. Attempting to upgrade straight off iTunes in the hope of using redsn0w to jailbreak will definitely result in a baseband upgrade and therefore ultrasn0w being locked out.

Once you've jailbroken your iPhone using Pwnage Tool, tap on Cydia and search for ultrasn0w to get your iPhone unlocked to any carrier of your choice, then just reboot your phone. Ultrasn0w is not an application that requires downloading to your computer.
