Of all the outfits at E3 showing iOS related stuff, Chillingo by far had the best overall lineup. All four of these games look great, and I really can't wait to give 'em all a try. They really know how to pick the games they're going to promote now, and while I'm not entirely sure any of these will be the next Angry Birds, they might be the next Feed Me Oil.

Roll in the Hole The title of the game basically tells it all, and the rest is explained by watching the video. It's a super casual puzzle game that customers on the App Store have basically voted with their wallets in telling Chillingo "We want more of this, please."

Blobster This is a really interesting game that I'm not sure if I'd totally describe as a platformer, but it does have some definite platforming sort of elements to it. You control your dude with a slick little slingshot mechanic, which really seems like a much better control solution than the typical array of virtual controls and buttons.

DrawRace 2 I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited for this game. I liked the original a lot, and the sequel adds cool 3D traffics, more tracks, and tons more goodies.

Contre Jour Similar to Blobster, I'm not really sure the best genre to categorize this game, but the art style if sick. I'm totally loving the look and feel of this one.

Meeting with EA is always a little weird at conventions. Like most massive companies they're governed by many layers of management, marketing, and more. Because of this, details on a lot of these games are hilariously vague. In fact, I was able to get a peek at The Sims Medival, but at this point in time, the only thing EA is willing to let me take away from the event is its logo. Similarly, all they'd tell me about Madden 12 is that it's better than last year, and it has leaderboards.

Oh well, I'm sure we'll have more details soon. Anyway, on with the show-

Madden 12 The Madden series iterates heavily from year to year, with basic tweaks, improvements, a new roster, and maybe even a new feature or two. This year seems to be no different. The player models seemed to look a little better, the textures were a bit more crisp, and of course, it ran fantastic on the iPad 2.

FIFA 12 Us Americans don't care too much for soccer, but it's really cool to see EA expanding their system they used in Scrabble to use smaller iOS devices as controllers for a game taking place on the iPad.

Battleship Everyone remembers Battleship, right? Do I need to explain how it works? Here's what you need to know: No online multiplayer. Weird, right? Either way, the little animations between shots looks neat, and are easily skippable by tapping the screen.

Monopoly: Here and Now: World Edition Aside from having entirely too many colons in its title, this version of Monopoly has an entirely new board and some other nice additions that you can see in the video.

We've posted about Shadow Gun a few times now, but really haven't gotten much confirmation that the game will actually look (and perform) like it does in the trailer footage. Heck, being skeptical about such things is entirely reasonable too, as it seems like over the course of video game history more than a few developers have released trailers that are either pre-rendered or captured running on hardware that far exceeds the target platform. And really, I suppose as a game developer the greatest compliment you can get is producing something that is so good that people don't think it's real.

Well, I can assure you all that Shadow Gun is real, and the footage that has been shown so far really does reflect how the game looks and plays. Sure, it doesn't seem like there's much gameplay yet aside from a basic third person shooter, but this seems like an awesome starting point.

Here's the game running on an iPad 2, I do some zooming in on the character model so you can see the lighting:

Pretty crazy, right? If you're wondering what's going on behind the scenes, Unity just released the following video that reveals it's not witchcraft, wizardry, or other forms of sorcery… It's actually really clever way to handle character models and lighting. Give it a look:

I'm really looking forward to Shadow Gun, I just hope that Madfinger Games builds an awesome game around these graphics. I'm worried that it could potentially turn into another Samurai II, which as mentioned in our review looked incredible but was somewhat lacking in the gameplay department… So let's cross our collective fingers that this isn't the case here.

Apple recently announced iOS 5 at the WWDC event which is the new version of iOS, which comes with more than 200 new features. One of the notable features is the iMessage. iMessage is built in the message application, and it allows you to share messages, photos, videos and few more things. It's actually a rival of popular BlackBerry Messenger, which is an instant messaging app for BlackBerries. Analyst believe that iMessage is a very big challenge for BBM, and it will take it down in short time of period, but as we know that every tech war is not completed without Google, right? Apple iOS is Google's Android biggest competitor, and the reason Android is existing is also iOS, as Nokia CEO Elop said Apple helped creating Android. According to a source near to Google is claiming that Google is working hard on their very own messaging application to challenge BBM and iMessage, says Wall Street Journal.

We don't have any information about the name of the application, but words are on the street that the application could be a revamped and improved version of Google Gtalk. As instant messaging is getting popular, it's actually faster and way better than sending text messages. So in few years, it will totally replace text messages.

If Google is making something like that, then it will hit Android and there is a possibility that it will hit other phones too i.e. iPhone etc. Nothing is set on stone at the moment, so just take it as a rumor. Anyway, are you looking forward to this?

There are, I think, four people left on Earth who don't own the following titles from PopCap Games: Plants vs. Zombies [$2.99 / HD] and Peggle [$2.99]. If you don't, shame on you sirs. If you do already have them, here's some good news Peggle now supports the Retina Display and PVZ now has the Zen Garden. Both of these respective updates are available for free right now.

The news of the Peggle update broke yesterday afternoon, just about right when the update when live on the App Store. This update fixes, really, the only issue I had with the original game, which is to say, its muddy, out-dated visuals.

The Zen Garden is a different beast. It functions just like how it does in PVZ proper. It's an interactive garden that gives you cash in return for your green thumbs. You earn plants in the campaign or by purchasing them from Crazy Dave. As you earn more cash, you'll be able to unlock additional gardens, which in return, will give you more cash to buy all the high-priced action plants in PVZ.

New mini-games, as well as Game Center-linked achievements have been added to PVZ alongside the Zen Garden. That's quite an update, eh?

Back to the Future Episode 4 [$6.99] is available on the App Store. At this point, these write-ups are turning into reports as opposed to reviews. I'm OK with that. The first serial laid the foundation for all the future episodes mechanically and functionally. A review would be weird when there's nothing evaluative to say without regurgitating previous musings.

In other words, if you're new to Back to the Future read our review of the first episode.

Episode 4 kicks off right after the events of its predecessor. In the course of the game, however, you will travel back to 1931, which means there's a… pseudo-new environment to explore and interact with. The beginning of this specific episode in contrast with others does deal heavily with the dialogue wheel, so if you like the characters, this should be in your wheelhouse. If not… well, there's a lot of find, manipulate, and "use" convention.

I have a couple of thoughts coming out of Episode 4. Wouldn't it be great if there were decisions you could make that branched out the plot in interesting ways? Wouldn't it also be cool if these 'choices' carried that impact from episode to episode? Telltale never does this, but I think I'd be more invested in the series if it revolved around my actions.

Also, I'm tiring of this engine. Native app or not, these games run much, much slower than their PC and Macintosh counterparts. I understand the graphical sacrifice, but why doesn't the lack of textures, lighting and other effects mean we get a snappier game? I think there's some good work that can be done in the future with other series.

The next episode in the series will be the last. I don't have a hard date for its release, but I would imagine that it hits next month. I'll keep you in the loop.

Well, Apple releases only one iPad every year, but if we talk about Android tablets, there is a new one every other month which actually attracts users. Playbook is growing gradually and it actually impressed people who are loyal to BlackBerry, but it was disliked by iPad and Android users. As stated in Apple WWDC 2011, the new iTune with iCloud allow users to re-download apps thatpreviously purchased onthe iTune App Store. According to CDFXapps, the iDOS app, which has been banned by Apple, can be re-downloaded from the purchased section.

The new iCloud features "Purchased" tab next to the "Updates" tab in the App Store. It allows users to download the apps to any of the iOS devices that doesn't already have. You can also download the apps that have been removed from the App Store, if you have previously purchased it. This feature does appear to be limited to applications removed from sale by the developers and not applications removed by Apple for infringement, violations of App Store policies and other resons. In the meanwhile, some of the previously banned apps are still available, such as the iDOS app and Tris. It is unclear whether this will continue being the case for all apps with the iCloud. They may soon not be available for download.
