Way back in early to mid 2009, we were at the height of top-down dual-stick Geometry Wars-style space shooter releases. It seemed like every week or two there was another new one to check out, and although they each had their own sets of strengths and weaknesses, the vast majority offered up pretty compelling arcade experiences that were perfectly suited to the platform.

Among the many great dual-stick shooters available was Occurro! [Free] from developer Acceleroto. Occurro! was released in July of '09 and one of the things that set it apart from similar titles that were available at the time was its excellent controls, something that we noted when we reviewed the game.

Then about a year ago, the release of iOS 4 brought a sound problem that affected Occurro! and the developer pulled the game from the App Store with the intention of solving the problem. Well, additional projects and pesky "real life" got in the way and kept pushing the bug fix farther down the original timeline. At long last, the sound engine was reworked and last week Occurro! was officially re-released along with a bunch of other improvements.

First off, the old leaderboard system was ditched in favor of both OpenFeint and Game Center support for online high score and achievement tracking. The game also now supports multitasking and has received a decent graphical improvement in the explosion and particle effects department. The maximum number of enemies onscreen has also been increased for even more action, and many other minor tweaks and fixes have tightened up the overall experience.

Best of all is that Occurro! is now entirely free to download and play. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, and no plans to increase the price in the future. Acceleroto just wants to put the game out there for people to enjoy and hopefully spread the brand name around for a possible future release. As my mother once taught me, you never look a gift game in the mouth, and for the price of free you should definitely give Occurro! a try if you fancy a solid dual-stick arcade game.

We have just found pictures of a phone that might be the Apple iPhone 5.The design seems very similar to the iPhone 4 itself but it has a larger screen that is closer to the edges and glass material used seems different from the one on the iPhone 4. On the back you can also see two cameras and a dual-LED flash. The logo that says iPhone 5 looks different from the usual Apple font and they don't usually write the model number after the iPhone writing. This could end up being a fake or a photoshop or it might just be an early prototype.

We find it hard to believe that Apple has decided to go 3D since they usually don't go with the flow. But then again Apple had patented a Glasses free technology back in December 2010.

When you look at the picture showing the front, you can also see an Apple iPhone box. If this is the real deal and it does indeed have 3D cameras and the glasses free 3D display, we might just be looking at the next big step in mobile phones.

There is a good news for all that bought LG Optimus 3D or are planning to buy it. Instead of what was advertised (1080 full HD video recording at 24fps), LG Optimus 3D will be able to record 1080p HD video at 30fps. This is too useful, if you are looking for recording high quality videos from your Android smartphone. According to speculations, this must have been the main reason why the LG Optimus 3D's launch was delayed.

What GSM Arena was claiming about the phone's video capturing speed was also same as that was advertised (1080p at 24fps), so this is actually a plus point. But its not revealed yet that why LG has been doing all this advertising video recording at just 24fps. Was it just a marketing error? However it can be thought of as a cool marketing method by promising less and then impress users afterwards with more. Anyhow this smartphone is going to rock the market due to its amazing high speed video capturing feature.

If you grew up back in the 80's then you probably remember arcades and popular games from that time. Today we have a special treat for you, especially if you're a fan of arcades and in particular Space Invaders.

The main problem with arcades is that they are too bulky, so if you're looking for a more compact solution, we have a special DIY project that brings you the Space Invaders arcade in miniature size. Of course, this miniature arcade is fully functional and it comes with small buttons and a tiny arcade stick. This arcade measures 7? x 3.5? x 4.5? and the great thing about it is that it can run other games besides Space Invaders. The core of this mini arcade is comprised of Game Boy Advance SP parts, so you can simply put any GBA SP cartage in it and enjoy in your favorite games.

This mini Space Invaders arcade is impressive, and the only flaw we can point out of this DIY is its small screen size, but that's the point isn't it?
