If you have ever wanted to take remote control over your Mac you'll be pleased to hear that you'll be able to do that thanks to the new application for iOS devices called HomeControl.

HomeControl is a free and customizable web app that allows you to take control over your Mac OS X via an iOS device. All that you need to do in order to take control over your Mac is to install this app on your Mac and on your iOS device and you're good to go.

With the HomeControl app installed, you'll be able to raise, lower, or mute the volume on you Mac and to take full control over iTunes app remotely. With HomeControl you gain full control over your iTunes and you can easily reduce the volume, play, pause or stop the playback or even toggle between songs. Besides that, you'll be able to launch any application from your Applications folder.

In order to use this app, you'll need Mac OS X with HomeControl app and a built-in web server with enabled PHP. To download it for free and for more info, check out Brett Terpstra's post.
