Apigy's Lockitron web app is an application that allows you to lock and unlock doors remotely with your mobile phone. Of course, in order to unlock the doors, you'll need a self-install kit that includes a base-station and a USB remote fob.

The fob connects to the base-station, and the base-station connects to the internet via an ethernet cable, and in order to unlock the door, you'll just need to log on to Lockitron's site with your smartphone and send a command to your lock.

Once your setup is complete, it takes just 0.5 to 2 seconds to unlock the door, but in addition, you can also use NFC feature, so your phone becomes your key. You can also use a text message to unlock doors as well, if you don't have a smartphone with internet access. Of course, in case something goes wrong with Lockitron, you can still use traditional keys to unlock your door.

Lockitron lock costs $295, but due to possible latency issues, they are only available in the United States at the moment.
