The next version of Mac OS X Lion will be launching this summer. We may see it available via the Mac App Store before being sold online or in store. By making the Mac OS X lion available though the App Store, those currently using the OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard will be much easier to update to the latest version of the OS.

It is expected that Apple will announce the new distribution method at WWDC in early June. As the beta versions of the OS are already downloadable via the App Store, it makes this new method of downloading an OS update could be a possibility for the future update.
