Nvidia CEO , Mr. Jen-Hsun Huang , yesterday confirmed at the AsiaD conference that production has already begun on next generation silicon to be found in smartphones and tablet computers.

The next generation of processors to power these devices are to be named Kal-El , Wayne and Logan. According to Nvidia , it takes three years to come up with the next generation of Tegra processors due to which work is being done on all three at the same time. The Kal-El ie the Tegra 3 will be the first quad core processor to hit mobile devices later this year. The Asus Transformer Prime running Ice Cream Sandwich will be amongst the first devices to be powered by a Tegra 3 processor.
