BlackBerry PlayBook gets a new software update to version v1.0.8.4985. This update includes the new versions of Adobe Flash Player 11.1 and Adobe AIR 3.1 that brings performance improvements and bug fixes related to security and stability that was available for Android recently. This update also include,�Daylight savings time updates for time zones, better�Bluetooth and Wi-Fi�connectivity�and more.

This update includes

  • Updated version of Adobe Flash Player version 11.1 and Adobe AIR 3.1
  • Daylight savings time updates for time zones in the regions of Latin America, Australia and Central America
  • Updated Bluetooth and Wi-Fi software to help to improve connectivity
  • Fixed issues some users were experiencing with account payments in the BlackBerry App World storefront
  • Improved�syncing�when restoring applications with BlackBerry Desktop Software

Even though Adobe announced that they would stop developing flash for mobile devices and tablets. RIM has recently announced that they would continue to develop flash on their own for the BlackBerry PlayBook which is a good news.

New users who purchases new PlayBook would get this update automatically during the setup process. Other users would get the notification in the status ribbon or they could update it manually in the Settings Menu, under Software Updates.
