Even developers who don't normally fiddle with their prices are now fiddling with their prices. For the first in almost two years, Imangi Studios tells us, the price of Imangi: The Game [Free] has been dropped. But get this: it's free and will remain so for "the foreseeable future."

When we took a look at the game back in 2008, we praised the word game's hook. It's something of a cross between Scrabble and a Rubik's Cube � you're presented with a cluster of lettered tiles that you need to arrange in as many words as possible horizontally and vertically with mighty swipes of columns.

It's a neat game and, well, pretty popular amongst the word game and puzzle crowd. So popular, in fact, that the husband and wife crew who created it were able to eventually build a company around the success of it and their other titles. Dig Max Adventure [$2.99] ? Thank Imangi.

There are a couple of examples of the Unreal Development Kit being used for games that don't feature chainsaws and the color brown in the console space. Most Unreal Engine games, despite this, still just cater to "hardcore" crowd. And, yeah, that's a generalization, but it's true. I just edited the wikipedia entry to reflect this view, so now it's fact.

On our fair App Store we're seeing the UDK being used a lot for this same crowd,�but there are a couple of outliers. Dungeon Defenders [.99] dev Trendy Entertainment's animal-wrangling game�Chicken Coup [.99] , which just released yesterday, is one of them � and now it's just 99 cents, down from its original $1.99 price point.

The game is very basic, and definitely falls under the "casual" game umbrella with gameplay that amounts to little more than dragging chickens around on screen to sort them. Still, it's cool to see yet another game using the Unreal Engine on the App Store, something we hope to see much more of this year.

And on a related note, Dungeon Defenders, the hardcore Unreal Engine 3 game, is also down to 99 cents for an unspecified amount of time. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Hold on to your butts � Double Dragon is coming to the App Store. Publisher Aksys Games just gave us a heads-up about Double Dragon iPhone, which is an enhanced remake of the original arcade joint that'll feature new sprites, new animations, new enemies, new attacks, and even some extra special hidden goodies, all brand new to the game. The best part? It'll hit later this March.

Brizo Interactive, the team who handled Double Dragon for the Brazillian launch of the Zeebo, is developing this port. And while I've got zero experience with the Zeebo port, I'd imagine these dudes, at the very least, know their Double Dragon by now. (If anyone reading actually owns a Zeebo and has played Double Dragon on it, we'd love to hear about it.)

Control is the first thing that jumps to my mind when I think about the brawlers of another age coming to our new-fangled handhelds, but Aksys insists that the change of control won't be an issue due to Double Dragon's device-specific combo system that will accompany an in-game controller.�Also, you'll want to grab a pal � Bluetooth co-op is confirmed. Neat!
