Though Alpha has tagged its new launch, named as ALPA12 STC, at Photokina as compact camera for travellers yet the images of the new camera has led us image how uncomfortable this camera would be for travelling.

The ALPA 12 STC is said to be the youngest member of the ALPA 12 family and Alpha dreams of setting a benchmark with ALPA 12 STC in the stream of handheld cameras though I still consider designs of point and shoot by the likes of Nikon, Olympus and Canon to be more superior.

Alpha of Switzerland has come up with a whole range of products at Photokina 2010 though the one that has been its major launch is the ALPA12 STC camera. All the shift movements have been mounted on roller bearings hence making it easy to tag the ALPA12 STC as a digital camera.

The shape of the ALPA12 STC supposedly allows travelling photographers to easily mount and shift the camera on tripods. The STC (stitching / shifting travel compact) has been completely integrated in the modular and extensive ALPA12 platform.

The 134 mm high and 145 mm wide ALPA12 STC will cost you $3,682 which could easily be more than your tour budget.
