We have been waiting for the big players to make their moves but we have hardly had any announcements at the Photokina this year. Looks like the giants have decided not to use the Photokina platform to launch their major products so as to avoid real timecriticism.

We do have something from HP though. Along with the launch of HP Designjet Z6200 Photo Printer series HP has also launched HP Vivid Photo links. Both when combined are said to deliver high quality outputs along with the speeds of high end printers.

The newly launched HP Designjet Z6200 photo printer has been especially designed for photo print shops, photo labs, design firms, advertising agencies and commercial printing. The output image has a resolution of 2400 dots per image which can easily be tagged as photo-quality prints. The printer also offers option for indoor applications from line drawings to photographic output to signage.

The HP Designjet Z6200 photo printer has been tagged as the successor to the HP Designjet Z6100 and is said to be twice as speedy when compared to its junior. The printer can easily print up to 1500 square feet on an hourly basis.
