Toshiba seems to be travelling with technology. With 3G becoming the thing of the past, Toshiba is all set to sell integrated 4G WiMAX ready laptops to tap into the holiday season which is right around the corner. A laptop (or even a mobile) seems incomplete without 4G technology
and Toshiba is going to equip the latest connectivity to its new line of laptops.

"4G WiMAX coverage continues to rapidly grow and offers millions of people wireless access in many major metropolitan areas across the U.S.," said Carl Pinto, vice president of product development, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division. "Now with a WiMAX-enabled Portégé R700, Toshiba business professionals will be able to enjoy the benefits of having citywide connectivity at their fingertips."

The 13.3-inch ultraportable series of Portege R700 laptops are being relaunched with an integrated WiMax support, DVD drive, the best core 2010 processors, eSATA / USB combo port, an ExpressCard slot, 4 gigs of DDR3 memory, six cell battery and the usual in-built webcam.

To be precise the Portege R700-S1332W will have an Intel Core i7 CPU and a 128GB SSD while the Portege R700-S1322W will come bundled with Core i5 and a 320GB (7200RPM) hard drive.
