Late last year we covered briefly that Ferrari was to launch its own Ferrari themepark Ferrari World quite possibly the only true haven for petrolheads, adrenaline junkies and theme park fans. Just opened yesterday, Ferrari World has been dubbed the next best thing to sitting in an actual Ferrari F1 racer, which I'm sorry to say many of us won't have the opportunity to in our lifetime.

To briefly tell you why you should even bother thinking about visiting the Ferrari World at Abu Dhabi.

The exterior of the park is modeled after the side profile of a Ferrari GT, and the roof has a total surface area of 200,000 square meters (2,200,000 sq ft) with a perimeter of 2,200 meters (7,200 ft). One-hundred-sixty feet below that roof, which is festooned with the largest Prancing Horse ever created (see above), sits 86,000 square meters (930,000 sq ft) of floor space. That makes Ferrari World the largest indoor theme park on the planet.

Adults can drive a Ferrari 250 California Spyder though an exhibit, while kids can have their kick at learning how to drive Junior Grand Prix race cars.

While I'm absolutely certain none of our readers will have been in any road car capable of accelerating from knot to 60mph in two seconds. Ferrari World will give you just that opportunity in its roller coaster. The roller coaster Formula Rossa puts its passengers through on its way to a 150-mile per hour top speed absolutely ridiculous.

Even if none of the above is what you fancy (which I doubt will happen). The Ferrari World theme park provides all the shopping opportunity for officially licensed gear any fan can ever dream of. The price you need to pay to get into the Ferrari theme park is just 225 United Arab Emirates dirham (AED), which is only a little over $60 USD or 38 GBP. Click on the official link below for more info. Meanwhile, here's what it looked like at opening…
