This does sound weird as Toshiba's Folio 100 Android based internet tablet have been the center of their marketing for over the last few months but if the recent announcement on Wall Street Journal is to bebelievedthen Toshiba will be announcing tablets for early 2011 release in US but they might be something other then Folio 100.

"Players in the tablet market are not limited to traditional PC makers," said Mr. Kasuya, an engineer involved in the development of tablet computers, on the sidelines of the annual Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies, also known as CEATEC, near Tokyo. "The general trend is that Android-based tablets are becoming more and more widespread."

Toshiba's sudden release seems like a quick decision to tap into the currently hot market for internet tablets especially if they are Android based internet tablets. We are not sure if Toshiba has re-engineered the Folio 100 for its US release or it is about to come up with something totally new but we know that they have something up their sleeves that we aren't aware of.

Another part of the news says that the rest of the world like Africa, Middle East and Europe will get to see the same device by the end of year itself. Looks like Toshiba fans have alot of spending to be done this holiday season.
