Apple store has delayed shipping time for all iMac models according to the online Apple store information. This could be a sign that Apple is preparing to release a updated version of iMac next week. There are rumors on the net about launching the new iMac during the week of May 2nd, as Apple will officially stop disturbing iMacs to resellers this week.

The new 2011 iMac is expected to have Sandy Bridge CPUs like the latest MacBook Pros and the new Thunderbolt port. The update iMac likely also features new GPUs and new storage configuration options. Since Apple tends to release new products on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the likelihood of the new iMac is high for May 3rd or 4th.
