Acer recently launched their first ever Honeycomb tablet which is known as Acer Iconia A500. It's their first ever to feature Nvidia Dual-core Tegra 2 processor, and it's an amazing tablet. Back at MWC 2011, Intel told us that they will launch tablets featuring the Oak Trail platform, which is less power-consuming and more powerful. Intel is already working on Honeycomb port for their x86 Atom processor, and it looks like they are almost done with it, because DigiTimes is reporting that Acer is planning to launch their first ever Android Honeycomb tablet running on Intel Atom processor and it will feature a 10-inch touchscreen display. Intel is the leading chip maker in the world and the Atom processors for tablets will be a big challenge for companies like Nvidia and Qualcomm. Acer tablet is already in mass production because July is not much far away. Tegra 2 is amazing and blazing fast and I am sure that Intel Oak Trail will also bring some good experience to Android tablet users. You can also expect to see this chip in smartphones. DigiTimes further reports that along with Android tablet, Acer is also focusing on the combination of Oak Trail and MeeGo. ...
