Keeping track of power consumption is always useful. If you want to know how much power your devices are consuming in an easy way, company named Ubiquitous might have the right thing for you.

Ubiquitous has recently shown a new device called iRemoTap at the Embedded Systems Expo. iRemoTap is designed as a smart power strip that has a WiFi connection that allows users to monitor and control the power usage via their laptops or mobile devices.

As for using iRemoTap, it's easy as it can be, you just need to plug your devices to it and you're ready to go. After that, you can simply monitor the power consumption of your devices through a web-based interface. As for the interface, it shows how much power certain device is using, and you can even turn off specific devices via this interface. In addition, you can even receive tweets or text messages in case you forgot to turn off a specific device or if the device is using too much power.

iRemoTap sounds amazing, but so far, we don't have any information about its release date.
