Tata Teleservices selects Nokia Siemens Networks for 3G
Tata Teleservices Ltd TTSL is Indias first privately owned mobile operator to sign a deal securing its 3G telecoms supplier. It has selected Nokia Siemens Networks technology and expertise to support the launch of 3G. The network, based on WCDMA 3G and including HSPA+, will allow TTSL to offer high-quality mobile broadband providing fast Internet browsing and better quality voice calls.

Nokia Siemens Networks has demonstrated capabilities in our previous 2G deployments, and with its technological superiority it has facilitated us with the fastest time-to-market for new services, and the best value for combined operating and capital costs for mobile networks.�

Under the scope of the contract, Nokia Siemens Networks will supply its compact, energy-efficient and LTE-ready Flexi Multiradio Base Stations. In addition to enabling higher network capacity and faster mobile broadband services, these base stations allow �active sharing�*** between operators to improve efficiency.
Nokia Siemens Networks will provide network implementation and managed services to ensure a smooth rollout, improved network performance and seamless introduction of new services. The company will also provide its NetAct network management system to monitor, manage and optimize the 3G/HSPA+ network, and supply other operational support systems.
Nokia Siemens Networks can rapidly deliver 3G in India, thanks to its in-country 3G manufacturing facility at Chennai. It already serves many of the worlds leading 3G operators from its Global Network Solutions Centers located in Noida and Chennai, and these centers will be able to support TTSL from day one.
Nokia Siemens Networks research and development center in Bengaluru drives 3G-related initiatives for both the domestic and international market. The company has already set up 3G test labs in India, trained more than 3,200 India-based 3G technology experts and carried out site surveys for 3G network deployments.
