As MCV reports, Apple has just poached two top industry PR execs to help further push iOS as a major gaming platform.

Rob Saunders, who leaves behind his seven year role at Nintendo where he played a key role in the launch of the Nintendo DS and Wii, will be working PR at Apple for applications across all iOS devices. Nick Grange, who departs his role at Activision as the studio's European PR director, will be focused on iPad hardware. Grange comes to Apple with a long history in the industry, having held position with Electronic Arts and Microsoft.

Ever since the launch of the App Store, iOS has shown itself to be a solid games platform, which is something Apple quickly embraced in its iPod touch advertisements. In the years since that launch, we've seen some truly innovative and amazing titles emerge for the platform, which has evolved significantly from a hardware perspective, as well.

According to a recent report, over 40 million people game on their iOS devices and that's in the US alone.

It is rumored that this year, most probably some time around June during WWDC Apple will officially announce iOS 5 and upcoming Mac OS X Lion. So what innovation will iOS 5 bring to the market? Well, there are some rumors that iOS 5 might have a powerful voice control. What does this mean? It means that the new iOS 5 could be capable of recognizing commands in English that we use every day. Things like being able to ask your iPhone what's new tonight in your city, and this could result in an internet search of the latest events or concerts and so on.

Another example can be if you just ask your phone where is the nearest coffee shop and this also will lead to a map with directions to your desired destination. Similar to the rumored voice controls is Google's Voice Search with Voice Actions which is already present on Android devices, and offers similar functions to the rumored iOS 5 voice control.

Maybe some of you might have heard about an app that's called Siri, this is the app that the iPhone and the iPad base their "Smart" voice control on, and Apple just bought the rights for this app last year so there might be plans to modify it and then incorporate it in the gadgets that Apple will launch soon.
