The phone above is the Nokia C8 Concept Phone. It is definitely the best looking concept phone we have seen in quite sometime if not the best looking ever.

The design borrows elements from both the CSeries phones as well as the luxury 8xxx series of phones from Nokia and combines them into one device. One would say the formula is Nokia C7+8800+8600 Luna.

The whole shape is take from the Nokia C7, the silver elements from the 8800 and the glass elements from the 8600 Luna. We are not aware who the creator of this wonderful concept is as we haven't seen an official publication anywhere.

Anyway as far as the specifications are concerned, from the picture we can say that the phone has a 12 Megapixel Camera with LED Flash, Video Call Camera, Light Sensor, Mirror Finish Touchscreen.

Dead Space is like a wicked seesaw that keeps you teetering between states of panic and outright nervousness no matter how predictable the outcome of a scenario is. This is its real voodoo, the magic of the title, which is informed by a sharp, terror-drenched atmosphere influenced by various sci-fi horror works such as "Event Horizon" and "Alien."

Its setting, plot, and combat feed into this rich atmosphere, making the title feel as if it were a cohesive whole. However, the game's weakness, the combat, should give you a bit of pause. It's not hard to recommend Dead Space, especially if you plan to play with the blinds pulled down, but it's not a good shooter, which carries some weight.

Dead Space is a sequel to the original Dead Space, a console and PC joint created by the folks at EA Visceral. It's a confusing name at first glance, until you peel the experience back a bit and learn that Dead Space iOS really doesn't do anything to separate itself from its forerunner. It feels like a one-off experience just so happens to take place before the events of Dead Space 2 on the mining colony "Sprawl."

You spend all your time on this colony drifting amongst a cluster of stars, completely detached from the rest of civilization. Gorgeous panels and LCD displays sprinkle and contrast the cold, hard steel of the floors and walls of the Sprawl, while the remnants of civilization inform a grim tone and atmosphere.

Things, of course, have gone bad on the colony. Sickly, disjointed aliens are now taking over, slaughtering all in their path. For you, this means you get to see the aftermath all those pools of crimson, those piles corpses with the missing flesh, and the wrecked lockers, broken glass, and general disarray.

I think what's most remarkable about the setting is that it's crafted in a way that all the future stuff feel familiar, yet obviously above and beyond what our civilization can accomplish and build. You can connect with the setting, but you recognize it as alien.

And it's in solitude that you dwell. Dead Space is really good at making feel both helpless and alone in the face of something much, much larger than yourself. In this specific one, your avatar, code-named "Vandal," isn't the chatty type. Your guide who also doubles as the games' narrator to some degree isn't all that talkative either. Also, your adventure, as a result of an incident, isn't filled with many people with jawbones intact. Essentially, you live and breath in a world without any living and breathing.

So, you're alone alone against hordes of aliens, I should add. Unfortunately, combat isn't good enough. Vandal is essentially a slow meat turret with basic strafing abilities, which makes it hard to be either aggressive or even defensive. Granted, the weaponry in the game is plenty violent; the Plasma Cutter and the god-like drill weapon can put serious hurt on your foes, but you'll constantly be re-negotiating your position in battle and never quite comfortable with what you've chosen.

Combat isn't this grand ballet where you can skillfully move about enemies, juking and jiving and delivering punishment with the grace and ease of a Kratos. It's more like a square dance for people with insanely large feet. This wouldn't be so much of a problem if you could aim and fire with accuracy and quickness, but you can't do that. The touch implementation of both these mechanics bringing up the gun and choosing your target are clunky, leading to a lot of missed shots, missed opportunities and a needless death here and there.

And you'd figure the combat would be grand: the gamefeatures a dismemberment mechanic for god sakes that rewards you for shooting off the limbs of aliens. But the accuracy just isn't there, so the pay-offs aren't either. (You also can't aim with tilt or gyrometer, for that matter. There's also no way to invert the Y axis, or any way to customize the controls.)

The kicker for me is that I think the weakness of the combat actually enriches the experience to some degree. It heightens the scares and does the most work in informing the nervousness you'll feel. I say this because you're not a Terminator; you can't just obliterate anything in your path, making you actually fear the next confrontation.

There's a level of immersion in this game as well, due in large part to the game's super limited HUD. Health and bullets, for example, are displayed visually on the character and its respective guns, which makes for a super clean presentation one in which you control Vandal with invisible dual-analog sticks, which are serviceable, but still not ideal for some of the things the game throws at you in the action department.

Bullets are limited, which is an interesting touch. The lack of ammunition will force you to rethink battle strategies, readjust and lean on the game's generous upgrade system. With collected nodes and cash, you can refill your guns and make them stronger and faster via Benches and an in-game Store.

To dive into a little bit more of the brick-and-mortar, this is a rigidly linear, scripted game that goes a little something like this: you are to go [there], and the only way you can get to [there] is to find a way to unlock a door, the key in which you'll need just so happens to be tied to a scare or a fight with monsters. And… that's about it.

Of course, straying from the set path by a few feet will net you goodies, but for the most part, the game doesn't offer anything outside of its invisible racing line (which, hilariously, you can pull up visibly at any point in case you lose your way).

And while you'll encounter few instances where something isn't scripted, there's still a lot of atmosphere to soak in. The sound design, in particular, is ridiculous good. You'll hear the patter of aliens in ventilation system, the terrible groans of aliens behind you, and these astoundingly dramatic crescendos that spurt from nowhere, often sparking you back into a state of high alert. Wear headphones if you have them, it's worth it.

The art and visuals are also particularly inspired. The art manages to parallel the grim undertones of the narrative and the visual work is top-notch.

However, I wish there was more "new" in this game. A lot of the assets and elements of the original Dead Space for PC and consoles, including the enemies, the lockers, the weapons, and so on, are reproduced here. I suppose if you haven't had experience previously, though, this isn't a big deal.

Also, The Retina display visuals on the iPhone 4 look tremendous, though I think the control issues on this specific version of the game are made a little worse because of the lack of screen real estate. Your thumb will almost always obscure part of the game. I lean towards preferring the iPad version myself, but you'll get a similar experience no matter what device you play on.

But, I think what's best about Dead Space isn't the art and sound despite their impressiveness; what's best is how good this game is at keeping you thinking about what kind of terrible things can happen that overwhelming sense of dread that you get from the best horror flicks.

In some sections, the game terrorizes you with traditional video game tropes, having you check bodies that you know will spurt to life. In another section, it plays with vertigo, and still in others, it hammers you with sudden conflicts, bouts of nothingness complimented by a roaring firefight, and hallucinations. It's kind of amazing when you consider just how many ways this game tries to screw with you.

Sure, Dead Space is worth a download based on its production values alone. The team has successfully created a very, very dark title bolstered by a rich atmosphere that oozes everything you want out of a solid horror game. And the story isn't so bad, either. As Vandal, you set off a series of events that it must, in turn, stop. It's almost a revenge narrative, though to really dig into it would kinda kill the experience for you.

But, I feel like the weakness of the combat far surpasses its usefulness as a bolster for the scares. The end of the game turns into a series of unintelligible slugfests that will grate on you, especially on higher difficulty levels. It's a bummer that more imaginative situations weren't created for the last hour or so of the game because the rest of it manages to feel so smart.

This isn't the scariest game on the planet, nor is it the best put together. The combat in particular is a black eye. But there's a lot in Dead Space to keep you engaged and there's some points of great design that I think you'll appreciate especially if you're daring enough to play this on your sofa with the lights off and some great headphones on. Just keep the minor issues in mind and I don't think you'll leave the game disappointed. I suppose there's also the chance EA could go back and implement fixes like sensitivity sliders or even some kind of aim assist system, but we'll have to wait and see on that.

The Sony Ericsson X3 is a 3D Concept phone designed by juris15. It is also known as the X Cube.

The main fact about this concept is the dual cameras on the back that are capable of taking 3D pictures and recording 3D video.

It runs on google's Android OS. The design seems to be based on the recently announced Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc with just a few tweaks on the front and back surface.

The concept will be available in 2 colours-Misty Black and Sensous Silver. The 3D technology is something that is catching up quickly on every technological device and we guess it is just a matter of time before it gets launched by Sony Ericsson and other manufacturers as well.

We've already seen all sorts of medical implants for your eyes, but now we have another implant that will make you feel like as though you're a robot with a camera as eyeballs.

This eyeball camera was developed in Northwestern University and University of Illinois and it's quite a revolutionary looking device. So what's so great about this device? Well, first thing that we have to notice is its miniature size, and speaking about small size, it so small so it can fit onto the lens of your eyeball.

Great thing about this eyeball camerais that it will give you camera-lens abilities, so you'll be able to use 3.5x optical zoom and take photographs at the same time.

As you can see, the eyeball camera sounds great, and I don't know about you, but I wouldn't feel comfortable having a camera on my eyeball.

If you want to meet up with us, please email tips@toucharcade.com with "Macworld 2011" in the subject to make sure our email filters appropriately highlight your message.

Although Apple no longer plays a big part in Macworld, it's still one of the major events for the Apple community. Originally started in 1985, Macworld has been the home to a number of large announcements such as iTunes itself in 2001, the Mac Mini and iPod Shuffle in 2005, and the original MacBook Air in 2008. We look forward to meeting everyone there, and reporting on the awesome games we come across.

Earlier this month we got our hands on a pair of Fling iPad joysticks. The device is a clever design with two suction cups on one side which stick to the iPad screen and a concave conductive joystick suspended in the center of a plastic ring with a spiral spring. Because of the spring arrangement, the Fling joystick always returns to the center, and as you get closer to the edge of the ring it becomes more and more difficult to push until it stops. It works surprisingly well in dual stick shooters, and many other types of games with virtual joysticks.

I highlighted some games that seemed to work especially great with the Fling in our preview:

The good news is, for many games, the Fling is absolutely outstanding. Playing dual stick shooters using the Fling is, in a word, glorious. I easily decimated my Geometry Wars [99] high scores. With real joysticks, Max Adventure [99] is a joy to play. Age of Zombies [$2.99] feels like it was made to be played with the Fling, with the secondary weapon buttons positioned perfectly outside its plastic ring.

First person shooters work great as well. In fact, I almost felt like I was cheating in N.O.V.A. 2 HD [$6.99] my overall accuracy improved so much. It's really incredible just how much of a difference it makes, almost making N.O.V.A. 2 feel like an XBOX game with a real controller. Similarly, the Fling works really well in every Gameloft game I tried, as the ability to move the various on-screen controls around allows you to perfectly position the Fling wherever you're comfortable, while also placing the buttons within reach. …Read More

The down side of the Fling at the time was that while the preorder price was in line with other iPad accessories, it still seemed a tad expensive. However, the economy of scale works in wondrous ways though, and apparently, demand for the Fling has been quite high. This has allowed Ten One Design to drop the price of Fling units from $25 each and $38 for a pair down to $20 each and $30 for a pair. If you've already preordered, expect a refund for the difference to show up sometime soon if it hasn't already.

If you were holding out for a price drop, now is your chance to head over to the Fling site and preorder now. Also, while we haven't been able to get our hands on one yet, ThinkGeek has a joystick that is similar but with a more retro feel that might be worth considering as well.

Touchscreen phones and other Touchscreen devices these days have thick bezels around their touchscreens. Well that is all set to change according to a spokesperson of the materials company 3M.

A new innovation in touchscreens and processor will allow devices to have touchscreen that extend to almost the edge of the device.

The way the current touchscreens work is through a transparent conducting mesh below the screen which detects finger movements. There are circuits below the bezel/border surrounding the screen that transmit these movements from the mesh to the processor.

Now the company 3M claims it has found a way to remove the bezel/border under which the circuits are placed by using Silver rather than ITO (Indium Tin Oxide). Apart from the smaller bezels, the response time is also reduced significantly by upto 10 times according to studies.

Okie, we admit. We are loving the path NVIDIA is taking. They have brought World's first Dual-core, 3D and now plan to launch Quad-Core mobile processors. We aren't fully sure of what they are upto and what their processors can deliver. But from what we have understood from the slide, these processors are insanely powerful .

The Tegra 3 does Blu-ray, stereoscopic 3D gaming, handles 13,800 MIPS, sports multicore Cortex-A9 architecture. CPU's that use ULP(Ultra Low Power) technology which shows love towards the battery.

For the record, At CES 2011 Tegra 2 chips have already powered flagship Android devices like the LG Optimus 2X andMotorola Atrix 4G and Motorola'sXoom tablet. And we're looking forward for many launches at the MWC 2011 during feb.

That's mostly is one of the most exciting news of the year! And tablets are going to be the most powerful devices out of these i guess. And as i've already told about in my previous post which mentions the likes of Tegra 2 3D processor, this technology is going to change the way we use smartphones and tablets !

If you're using Twitter and if you're opening all sorts of links without checking you might get infected by the latest malware. This malware comes in the form of a fake antivirus software named Security Shield, and as soon as you install it, you'll infect your computer with a virus.

This virus is spread by a malicious link that is masked with a Goo.gl URL shortener, so it can easily be mistaken with a real link. Anyhow, this virus will hijack your computer and it will use your Twitter account to spread itself without you acknowledging any of this.

Therefore, if you notice any unfamiliar tweets from your account, this means that this virus has affected your PC and what you need to do about it is you need to do to change your Twitter account password, secondly probably worth sending a tweet out (especially if you have lots of followers) to disregard the link previously posted by the virus and lastly download a proper antivirus software to get your PC cleaned out.

The device in the picture above is running MeeGo OS and thus it leads to several new rumours. Some believe it to be the Nokia N9 while others believe it to be the Nokia MeeGo Tablet.

This device is very different from the device previously rumoured as the Nokia N9-00. This device seems to be sporting a larger display also doesn't seem to have a QWERTY keyboard.

Also the placement of the Nokia logo and the above mentioned characters give us the sense that this is the Nokia tablet that's been rumoured. However, we also heard that there will be a Nokia N9-01 which is another MeeGo device but without the QWERTY keyboard and a different design.

The device in the picture seems to be an early prototype of sorts since the full body is not seen. Anyway whatever it maybe, the device looks very interesting and lets hope for an official announcement very soon.

Introduction

We all love our devices and we wish to keep them in the same condition as possible. But it is not always possible because a few bumps, scratches or falls are bound to occur even if we are the most careful users. So we opt for accessories to protect our devices. Some people go for pouches while others go for cases or even the new products such as the InvisibleSHIELDs.

Even in these three categories, there are a lot of options to choose from in terms of design, material and colour. But the basic question that comes into mind for every user is which case or puch provides maximum protection while adding the least amount of bulk or least amount of hindrance to the usage.

That's where the Casemate Barely There steps in. The case provides maximum protection to your phone while still allowing full access to the phone. Lets see how it performs as compared with other Nokia N8 Cases.

Unboxing

The CaseMate Barely There Case comes in a clear packaging that allows the user to take a look at the case easily. Here are the contents of the package:

We were glad to see that they have also provided proper installation guidelines and tools for the screen protector.

Design
The design is one of the best aspects of the Case Mate Barely There Cases for the Nokia N8. They have been designed to fit the Nokia N8 perfectly and unlike other companies they have taken proper steps to ensure that there are no issues using it.
The case fits the N8 like a glove. There is no extra plastic on the top and bottom or on either sides.

The case protects mainly the back and sides of the device. The top, bottom and front portions remain uncovered. But considering that the N8 is a Gorilla Glass touchscreen phone, I think it doesn't matter since it protects itself.

It covers everything on the back except for the Xenon Flash, Camera lens and Loudspeaker slots. On the left, there are gaps to access the microSD card slot, the SIM card slot, the microUSB slot and the charging LED indicator. On the right, the gaps allow access to the volume keys, the keyguard slider and the camera shutter button. On the lower part at the back, they have also included the slot for the lanyard.

Comfort

The unit which we have for review is the Black one and that has a matte finish. If I am right, the Chrome one has a Glossy finish. While the Chrome might be more flashier, I guess the Black is more ideal for use. The Matte finish provides more grip to the Nokia N8 and prevents it from slipping off your hands.

The case addresses one main issue that I found with most other N8 cases-it combines the gap for the volume keys and keyguard slider thus making the slider easy to use. On most other cases, there was a separation in the gap and thus sliding the keyguard was an issue for most especially those without long nails.

The matte effect prevents any fingerprints or smudges from sticking on and also prevents your palms from getting sweaty. The case is quite light and thin, adding hardly any extra weight and thus it still is quite easy to carry around.

Safety

The matte effect on the back helps a lot to prevent the handset from falling from your hands and getting damaged. The phone is protected from scratches, smudges and impacts thanks to the flexible impact resistant plastic shell.

Well it may not protect your device from a massive fall etc but small bumps and falls are definitely a no bother. The case also prevents the camera lens from getting smudged by your fingers as it is further recessed into the casing.

Conclusion

If you want a case for your Nokia N8 that is quite light and comfortable but at the same time provides decent protection, look no further, the Case-Mate Barely There Series is the best solution for you.

You can buy the Black Case here and the Chrome (Silver) one here.

With a week to go before the month is over, we're just now finally seeing some major iOS game releases after seemingly every developer fired off everything they had in to the 2010 holiday season. Tonight's treasures are Dead Space for the iPhone and iPod touch as well as Dead Space for iPad. Dead Space is currently available in New Zealand, and will be appearing in various international App Stores throughout the day until it finally shows up in the US at 11:00 PM EST.

We'll have our full review up later today, but for our friends abroad I'll offer some brief impressions- The graphics and sound of Dead Space are incredible, and really nail the look and feel of the series. This is a game you'll want to play in the dark with headphones. I've found myself preferring the game on the iPad, as your thumbs obscure a little too much of the screen on the iPhone. (It's still a ton of fun on smaller devices, don't worry.) There isn't any kind of aim assist or control customization which makes combat feel clunky and more difficult than it should be, which can be irritating in a game with limited ammo where every shot counts.

We have other minor criticisms which we'll get in to in our full review later today, but even with the few issues Dead Space has, this isn't a game you should miss. With around 6 hours (in our playthrough) of playtime, Dead Space provides an experience that fits perfectly in line with its console counterparts. We just wish they titled the game something differently, as it comes loaded with its own unique story line and will likely be a part in any discussion of Dead Space lore… Things are going to get confusing with Dead Space (for consoles) and Dead Space (for iOS) sharing the same name and being completely different games.

Stay tuned, and in the meantime swing by the Dead Space and Dead Space HD threads in our forums for more initial impressions from international forum members who have already purchased the game in their App Store.

We finally have news that Apple is planning to launch the iPad in India on Jan 28th. iPad was launched on April 3rd 2010 for the US Market, it took them almost close to 9 months for launching this device.

C'mon Apple

Yes, there comes the remaining lot of the iPad to India. And Apple is launching the iPad at a throw away price of Rs.26,000 (considering Apple's pricing scheme). This price sounds too good to be true and its true. Hope they don't ship the refurbished ones. We'll they don't do that usually. One of the main reasons why they are shipping this product to India is to make way for the iPad 2, so where do they actually sell the left overs? India.

And the iPhone 4 is yet to be launched here. Don't worry, just when the next gen iPhone launches in the US, Apple will launch the iPhone 4 to the Indian market.

Last September, we reviewed Neuroshima Hex [$4.99/Lite], the iOS adaptation of a highly tactical board game that takes place in the Neuroshima role-playing universe. We enjoyed the title a lot for its deep and satisfying strategic gameplay, and about the only negative about Neuroshima Hex we could find was the fairly steep learning curve and lack of very much in-game assistance for helping new players to the game. Since release, a few updates have hit that addressed some of the game's shortcomings while adding even more new features, with the most recent update coming last Thursday.

After an initial bug fixing update a couple weeks following release, the second update to Neuroshima Hex in November added a ton of usability improvements. An in-game manual could be easily accessed if a part of the ruleset was confusing to you, an undo button let you undo a previous move, and visual displays of unit information and statuses made it much more clear what was happening during play. Another thing that snuck its way into the second update was Retina Display resolution game board graphics, though the rest of the menus and UI remained at regular resolution.

Neuroshima Hex's third update last week adds in the rest of the Retina Display support for the remaining elements, and the game looks absolutely gorgeous in high resolution. It has also been updated as a universal build, so iPad owners can now run the game at native iPad resolution and with appropriately adjusted UI elements for the larger screen. Most players in our forums had been perfectly happy running Neuroshima Hex in 2x mode thus far, but I'm sure native iPad support is still a welcome addition. Finally, Game Center is now integrated containing online leaderboards and 54 achievements to unlock.

Neuroshima Hex was a really solid effort on release, and over the past several months it just seems to be getting even better with each new update. Currently, developer Big Daddy's Creation is looking into adding a form of asynchronous online multiplayer, which would really push Neuroshima Hex into the upper levels of iOS board games along with the excellent Carcassonne [$9.99]. New factions and other new features are also being considered for potential updates. Make sure to update your copy of Neuroshima Hex to check out these latest additions, especially if you're an iPad or a Retina Display device owner.

The Android 2.1-powered Motorola MILESTONE XT800 is exclusively distributed by AirTyme Communications in India at a MRP of Rs 31,999. It comes with an HDMI cable for TV output and a 2GB micro SD card in-box.

Though the phone features multimedia rich features, we doubt if it would pull in many buyers considering its price point and the fact that it still runs on Android 2.1. A future update my bring in Froyo running on the same. But some of its key features like Dual SIM, HDMI-out for sure will make people count this device in.

airtel 3g

Airtel launched 3G services in Bangalore today and we have some news about the plans and tariffs.

Activate 3G

First you have to send a SMS 3G to 121

You would get a reply from Airtel if your handset is compatible

We got back a message stating the tariff as Rs. 30p / 20kb and we were asked to confirm by sending 1 as a reply

Any 2G pack will be de-activated once you activate 3G

This looks like a pay as you go plan.

There is also another plan we heard in which you pay Rs. 650 as a monthly rental and get 1.25 GB free usage on 3G.

After that you pay for extra usage and max bill is Rs.2000 after which your speeds will drop to 128 Kbps

We shall update this page once we have more info !

What do you think of the tariffs ? Are you happy ? disappointed ?

Thanks to Varun Roy our Bangalore Ninja !

We've seen couple of NVIDIA powered Smartphones at CES this year but this news of a 3D version of the Tegra 2. Their dual-core Tegra 2 3D processors is said to power more smartphones that is going to launch later this year. So this is just not a single core processor technology, but this is an evolution which will change the way we use our smartphones. We might see devices with this processor by spring.

From the leaked MWC 2011 slides its understood that Tegra 2 3D is clocked at 1.2GHz and its on a Dual Cortex A9 architecture. So some of the devices which are planned for Spring launch would have already been mated with this processor. So year ahead looks interesting and exciting too.

So Android, iOS devices might cope up to adopt this technology. Am sure lot of Android phone manufacturers would have already started working on their protos powered with this 3D processor. Not sure if Apple is working on something like this in parallel.

Movies, games and apps will have unlimited possibilities now. Its what they do with it. And how the end user is visually satisfied!

2011 is going to be one of the important year in the world of technology. Mark it!

Airtel has finally launched it's 3G services and decided to launch it in an event in Bangalore as we reported earlier. The main reason Airtel launched 3G first in Karnataka is because this circle is Airtel's largest circle by revenue market share. The company plans to launch 3G services in all the 13 circles it won a license by March 2011

Sanjay Kapoor, CEO Bharti airtel said, "It is indeed the start of a new era when 3G services in India roll out on airtel's network. World over 'Data traffic' on the back of high speed internet and use of social networking has already exceeded the 'Voice traffic'. India is ushering in the domain though later than most of the world but no doubt we will catch up at a much faster speed. 3G is much more than a technology migration it is a transformational shift and airtel's focus would be to bring to its customers an enriched user experience on the back of a world class delivery network. I welcome all 745 million mobile customers of the country to be a part of this journey with airtel!"

Airtel has deployed a HSPA network for offering 3G services and one can expect speeds upto 21 Mbps.

Regarding tariffs , there will be both time-based plans which are billed per hour and flexi-shield plans for heavy users.

More on that soon
