Yesterday, we told you that Sprint will offer the Samsung Galaxy Tab for $399 with a 2-yr contract, and for $599 without contract. Well the price is a little big for a 7-Inch Android powered tablet, but Sprint is not the only one who's offering the tablet for a huge price tag. A screenshot is leaked over at Tmo-News which is showing that T-Mobile USA will offer the Samsung Galaxy Tab for the same $399 with a 2-yr contract after $50 MIR, and for $649 without contract. Both T-Mobile and Sprint contract prices are the same, so I think AT&T and Verizon will offer the tablet for the same contract price, which is a little high for some people. The unlocked price is a little higher than Apple iPad, but I think Sprint and T-Mobile will offer the 3G+WiFi version, so I think then it's okay. I hope that AT&T and Verizon will offer a cheap price, but if they will offer the same $399 with contract, then I think people would prefer unlocked over contract. What do you people choose, with contract or without contract?

You people may have seen a lot of images of the HTC Merge, also called Lexicon. HTC Merge is an Android powered phone, and we are going to see it on Verizon later this year. We saw the first image of the HTC Merge back in August, and we also saw it in Verizon inventory. Then after a few days, HTC Merge made its way through FCC with Verizon branding, and then later we saw the press shot of it. Recently we saw a dozen of HTC Merge photos, and we also saw the leaked guide and a little review of the phone. And now, another image of the Merge is leaked, but this time we also have some information on the release date of the phone. Droid Life is saying that Verizon will launch the HTC Merge on November 11th, and that's all they know at the moment. Well, we have seen a lot of leaked images of the Merge, may be the day is near when Verizon will officially launch it, and if the phone is launching on November 11th, then may be Verizon will announce it officially in few days or week. What do you people think?

Remember we told you that AT&T will launch their first Windows Phone 7 device on November 8th, and I think the rumor was true because the image above is saying that AT&T will launch the Samsung Focus on November 8th. Samsung Focus is actually the Samsung Cetus, and you people may have seen the Samsung Cetus, which is a WP7 device by Samsung. We know that the Cetus is headed to AT&T, and finally Cetus got a proper name. The image was hidden somewhere in new Windows Phone 7 site, and folks over at Engadget found it out. So folks, I think it's confirm now that we will see the Focus on AT&T this November, and I hope AT&T will announce it on October 11th.

Folks over at iFixit got their hands on the new Nokia N8, and you know what's their job. They torn down the Nokia N8 and they give it 8 out of 10, which means that its easy to tear down the phone. They also said that the placement of the antenna and Xenon flash in Nokia N8 is really creative, and as Nokia said that they do a lot of investment and research on antenna design, that's why we have never saw an antenna issue in Nokia phones. So folks if you are planning to tear down your Nokia N8, then grab your tools and follow the guide over at iFixit. Anyone willing to open their Nokia N8?

Yesterday we made a post listing several titles that have gone on sale for a limited time. We wanted to pass along a heads-up on a few more sales and price drops for titles we think readers may enjoy.

Soosiz, Free Ahh, Soosiz. [ review ] Touch Foo's rotational 2D platformer is one of our very favorite iPhone games, and is one of the first titles to which we gave a five-star rating. Soosiz is a stylized cartoonish platformer that challenges your brain to keep up with all of its twists, turns, and inversions. It's incredibly well executed with excellent controls, has a ton of content and is a lot of fun. And it's free this weekend (regularly $1.99). There's no excuse for missing this one.

Need For Speed™ Undercover, $1.99 [ review ] Electronic Arts' Need for Speed Undercover (down from $4.99 for a limited time) is the studio's first iPhone release in their long-running racer series. It's a mission-based racer (as opposed to the "'round the track" variety) that puts you in the role of an undercover wheel man infiltrating a series of street racer / chop-shop gangs to try and bust an auto theft ring wide open. It's a very well-done title that, at the time of its release, was perhaps the most visually impressive game on the platform.

ROCK BAND, $4.99 [ review ] EA's Rock Band, which recently hit the 2000 downloadable song mark, is one of the most immersive rhythm games in the App Store. The game sets you behind a guitar, bass, or drum kit, or lets you take the lead vocals in playing through any of the myriad songs available through its in-game song store. The game features 32 free songs and offers Facebook integration to help jam with your friends. Rock Band is, for a limited time, down from $6.99.

Rogue Touch, $0.99 [ review ] ChronoSoft's Rogue Touch (normally $2.99) is an iPhone adaptation of Rogue, the classic dungeon crawler that dates back to 1980. It's highly faithful to the feel and mechanics of the well-loved early platform releases, but has expanded the game nicely. It's my personal favorite iPhone dungeon crawler and is one of our long-time favorites here at Touch Arcade.

Worms HD, $2.99 [ review (iPhone ver) ] First there was Worms for the iPhone [ link ], then came Worms HD for the iPad. Well, actually, first there was the Worms for the Amiga, which Team 17 released back in 1995. Whichever way you look at it, it's classic turn-based artillery action in the Scorched Earth vein. And the iPad version has been reduced in price, from $4.99.

2XL TROPHYLITE Rally, $0.99 [ post ] 2XL Games' 2XL TROPHYLITE Rally (down from $4.99) is a highly impressive looking desert rally racer featuring 15 different races, WiFi and Bluetooth multiplayer, multiple vehicle views, five control schemes, and leaderboards. The iPad version has also been reduced in price ( $7.99 down to $.99 ).

Enigmo, $0.99 Pangea is running a sale on all of its multiplayer titles, physics puzzler Enigmo (down from $2.99) being one of the three games affected. Starting its life as a Mac game,Enigmo is a physics puzzle game that was voted Best iPhone Game at WWDC in 2008. In the game you move various objects around the game board to direct water droplets to their destination. Levels start easy and get so hard you will be desperately searching Google for the solution.

Nanosaur 2, $0.99 Another Pangea multiplayer title on sale is Nanosaur 2 (down from $2.99). Also starting as a Mac game,Nanosaur 2 was ported to the iPhone in late 2008. It hasn't aged very well compared to Pangea's other games, but the premise of piloting a massive dinosaur from the future who is equipped with a massive arsenal of weaponry couldn't get much more ridiculous and/or awesome.

Cro-Mag Rally, $0.99 [ review ] One of the early iPhone cart racers, Pangea's Cro-Mag Rally (down from $2.99) won the 2008 Best App Ever Award for Best Racing Game. Cro-Mag Rally puts you behind the wheel of a caveman's cart in a bid to cross the finish line first through nine different race tracks, using 11 different vehicles with nine types of power-ups there to help you. The multiplayer system was recently entirely rewritten to ease the auto-matching game process.

We have good news for FiOS subscribers of Verizon. New channels will be available as part of the subscription that are already running under Verizon FiOS since Verizon has recently signed a deal with Disney and ESPN. This content will be displayed across channels and even in different devices. To be precise, ESPN Goal Line will go live on the 9th for extreme HD and ultimate HD packaged subscribers. Though D.C. and Harrisburg PA won't be able to enjoy these features. Get ready as your college games are about to go live now.

Added David Preschlack, executive vice president, affiliate sales and marketing, DEMN, "This new agreement represents the ever-evolving landscape of the media industry. Gone are the days of linear channel distribution only we are tasked with helping our affiliates grow their businesses on multiple platforms, and this deal reflects that. With new broadband and on-demand services, Verizon FiOS TV subscribers will have better access than ever to our vast array of content."

We all know that Verizon is planning to get into the tablet plans, now customers can enjoy ESPN live channels directly on their computer systems and even tablets if they have Verizon connections.

Nowadays, it is easy to get lost in a discussion about raw power, stellar hardware specs, and the high-end smartphone market. But what many websites and analytics forget is that the vast majority of people, worldwide, want a decent mobile that can help them in their everyday life without punching a ginormous hole in their savings account. The Nokia E5 is one of the latest smartphones that falls into the affordable category, while still managing to cram enough features to appeal to the most social nutcase amongst us. Here are 10 reasons the E5 is a perfect social smartphone.

1. QWERTY
Admit it or not, the social butterfly lifestyle comes with a pre-requisite: texting, emailing, connecting, tweeting, IM'ing, posting, commenting,… and a lot of typing is required on almost every level. A decent qwerty like the one found on the E5 is a godsend for such cases, with nice tactile feedback, large keys, and even predictive text on the software side of things.

2. Facebook
We've already talked about the Facebook integration of contacts between the Nokia Contacts on your phone and your Facebook Friends that the E5 & C5 offer. It gets the latest status and profile pictures of the contacts and lets you always stay on top of your peeps without manually checking Facebook every few minutes. The standalone Facebook application also shows you your friends walls, images, lets you upload and tag new photos, view your timeline, comment and like your friend's status, call or SMS them without quitting the app.

3. Contacts Homescreen
The E5 brings the improved standby screen that people fell in love with on the Nokia 5800 XM. This lets you assign 20 contacts with pictures to your homescreen, so you can easily call or message them, as well as view a log of your latest joint communications, and follow one of their RSS feeds.

4. Ovi Contacts
If your contacts are available on Ovi chat or on Google chat, you can add them to the Ovi Contacts application and connect them to the Contacts you have in your phone book. You can then easily see who is online while going through your contacts, chat with them, share your music or location with them, as well as keep on top of it all with notifications on the standby screen.

5. Nokia Messaging Chat
If Ovi Contacts isn't enough, another application is preloaded on the E5, entitled Chat. This lets you sign in to Ovi, Google, Yahoo and Windows Live's chat services, and communicate with your friends through IM.

6. Nokia Messaging Email
Another preloaded essential on the E5 is Nokia Messaging Email which allows you to sign in to your Gmail, Hotmail, Ovi, Yahoo… and many more email services, with multiple inboxes, HTML view, push service, folder support, and much more. With homescreen notification, this is a great email client to stay on top of all of your communications.

7. Share Online
By itself, Share Online isn't much, but combine it with the stellar all-in-one Pixelpipe plugin or the specific Furtiv plugins, and you can upload any image, video, or audio from the E5 to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, AudioBoo, Picasa, Flickr, Blip.Tv, Vimeo, Twitpic, Twitvid… the list just goes on and on.

8. Ovi Maps
The E5 is one of the newest Nokia devices that come with the free worldwide Ovi Maps navigation software preinstalled. With Ovi Maps, you can share your location on Facebook, send your location's coordinate to your friends so they can meet you, or input any address where you're meeting your social contacts and navigate to it walking or driving.

9. Hardware
You might start wondering why Hardware is on this list, but when you consider than the E5 packs a 600Mhz processor and 256MB of RAM, you see that it's one of a limited breed of handsets who can take a beating and come back victorious: it's fast for all tasks and doesn't slow or bug down when many apps are open in the background. With the optimized 1200mAh battery, you're guaranteed to still have a few battery bars left for that midnight party you were planning to attend even if you exhausted it all day. And the 5MP camera with EDoF, while not stellar, is good enough for most situations, plus the images and videos size is also small and hence fast to upload online or share via bluetooth. Add to that fact that the E5 looks nice, especially in the blue variant I'm totting, and it's almost a royal flush in terms of hardware for the social butterfly.

10. Ovi Store
The E5 comes with Ovi Store pre-installed, letting you download more social apps like the previously mentioned Pixelpipe or Furtiv plugins, but also Nimbuzz, Fring, Socially, Gravity, Google Maps with Latitude and many more.

If those 10 reasons aren't enough, the E5 runs on S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2, Nokia's tried-and-true platform. That means that the software is mature, stable, and all applications run somehow better than on Nokia's touchscreen S60 5th devices. Even Nokia's homebaked apps, like Ovi Contacts, Nokia Messaging Chat and Email, are more responsive and faster.

What do you think of the E5? Have you bought one or are you considering it? Do you think it's a viable smartphone option for a social person, amongst the slew of full QWERTYs and big touchscreens, especially given its price?
