If you're an AT&T customer, the AT&T Navigator v1.7i is the newest updated version of the TeleNav-powered app, and it's now the first iPhone GPS navigation application to boast direct speech recognition for the iPhone. While some cars with in-car sat navs have had this feature for some time, this is a first for iPhone GPS apps.

To use this function, all you need to do is tap an icon, speak your destination, and the app should display the appropriate destination addresses. Tap one of the addresses, and navigation begins.

The new version also provides alerts for traffic cameras, works in landscape mode, and has lane assist function. In addition, there's also a new rather silly feature when I first heard of it but actually looks to be quite useful the function "shake to go home", it literally will do what it says, just shake and the app knows you want directions back home, quite handy. AT&T Navigator is free to download but be aware that it isn't actually freeware because you'll be charged directly via your phone bill.
