Here's a fun, somewhat offbeat post for your Sunday afternoon.

When it comes to tilt-controlled games, iOS devices are the king. But tilt isn't for everyone. And, if you've got enough time on your hands along with some serious engineering savvy you can turn any tilt controlled title in the App Store into a stick-controlled affair. At least that's what Shane Wighton has shown us in his rather hard-core hack that lends analog stick control to any iPhone tilt game.

See the Tilt to Live [App Store]-based demonstration video.

Hack a Day recently featured the project, which mounts an iPhone to a joystick-controlled, motorized X / Y tilt sled allowing a nudge of the stick to set the iPhone on edge. But the magic doesn't stop there… Designer Wighton has also mounted a webcam above the iPhone and designed a photoreactive algorithm that lets the tilt sled, without human intervention, to get a ball from start to finish in Labyrinth [App Store].

Strong work, Shane.
