Earlier this week, the new honeybee logo was revealed by Phandroid through looking within the Android 3.0 Honeycomb's SDK itself but now its been officially revealed. Named alphabetically after a tasty treat, from Cupcake and Donut to Eclair, Froyo and Gingerbread. The new glowing cybernetic bee sports blue stripes, an ethereal glow and a definite sting.

As you may be able to recall, Android 3.0 Honeycomb will be the first version of Android with features specifically designed for tablets, with new 3D effects and viewing options that take advantage of tablets' larger screen.

For those wondering when Honeycomb may finally be released, its likely to debut soon with the launch of Motorola Xoom this spring. It would then be followed by tablets such as the HTC Scribe, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Slider and MeMo. Just like previous versions of the operating system, the Android logo is open source, so you can download it from Android's Press / Media section.
