BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) has been quite famous among BlackBerry users and now its been announced to be coming to Android and iOS app store. Although the version of BBM that is coming to iPhone and Android is a scaled down version of the original messenger, i.e., it will have slightly less features than what you'd get from you BlackBerry.
So the iOS and Android users will probably get only the basic features of BBM and not the complex features like sharing pictures or videos that are currently available with BBM for BlackBerry. It will however probably be priced for free. According to TechChee…
Chances are it'll be available in a free, scaled-down version and a full version that costs a price.
I think RIM has taken a nice step to increase its users as this will have more footprints of RIM onto other mobile platform, this may allow them to control the entire messaging space, optimistic but worth a try.
