Forerunner wrist watches are not new but this latest addition to the popular Garmin series does come with some appealing features. The new Garmin watch, Forerunner 610 is the first to come with a touchscreen, instead of buttons.
The Forerunner 610 costs $350 and displays the distance and time elapsed in the same menu but also, the watch allows you to add other features such as heartrate. As you can see, the new Garmin watch is especially designed for serious runners. "Running with Forerunner 610 is like having a coach with you every step of the way," said Dan Bartel, Garmin's vice president.
Garmin has also included a new alert that brings the new Auto Lap and Auto Pause, and will keep you active during your run or walk session.
For those competitive athletes among you, the Forerunner 610 allows you to post your statistics onto the online Nike Running community, where performance can be compared with other runners who have the Forerunner as well. Producers have said that the touchscreen works in rain or sweat or even if the user wears gloves.
