A trusted Verizon source reported that the carrier are beginning to clear out their iPhone 4 accessory inventory, selling it at a discounted price. These discounts may suggest preparing for the launch of iPhone 5 in September, according to Phone Arena.

There has been a lot of rumors regarding the design of the new iPhone 5. The strongest rumor so far for the iPhone 5 has been an iPhone 4-like design that is possibly thinner and lighter. If clearing out of the current iPhone 4 accessory inventory is true, this might point to some design changes for the new iPhone 5. What we know at this point is that, the next-generation iPhone will likely equipped with 8-megapixel camera, Apple's custom-made A5 dual core processor, iOS 5 and iCloud pre-installed.
Apart from the new iPhone 5, Apple may launch a cheaper version of iPhone this fall as well. According to the other source, it may be a pre-paid iPhone 3GS.
